From the moment they met years ago, Pamela Semmache and Julie Luyindula built a strong friendship based on a shared passion for fashion, travel and art.
Pamela moved to New York in 2005 to model and quickly became a favorite with top designers, starring in various campaigns and runway shows. This fast track into the fashion world gave her a broad insight of the industry, such as understanding the importance of fit, fabrics and quality in designs.
Julie studied fashion design at the Ecole Duperré in Paris, and was trained by the prestigious fashion brand Hermes. She spent many years working in the art and fashion industries in Paris before moving to New York in 2013.
Pamela and Julie always had a shared obsession with button up shirts, and often found themselves frustrated with the lack of choice for high quality in the current market.
One day, they decided to transform this obsession into the ultimate shirt brand.
Inspired by the desire to elevate the button up shirt as a key piece of a woman’s wardrobe, Pamela and Julie decided to combine the modern cool New York style with their French refined heritage to debut Rue Mercer’s first capsule collection.
RUE MERCER prides itself on expert craftsmanship, high quality fabrics and beautiful construction, in order to offer the most polished yet relaxed shirt.
Every single RUE MERCER Shirt is handcrafted in Manhattan.
They are proud to manufacture locally and to produce a modern and feminine shirt spreading an effortless chic spirit.
